Company: Fortress Biotech, Inc. (“Fortress”) is an innovative biopharmaceutical company focused on acquiring, developing and commercializing/monetizing drugs and therapies. Fortress is the parent company to multiple public and private companies, all focused on drug development and commercialization.
We are hiring a Director, Corporate Development to identify mergers and acquisitions and licensing partners for our clinical candidates. This candidate will focus on building relationships with the top hundred life science companies for this purpose.
This candidate should be motivated and resourceful in order to join our corporate development team. The Director, Corporate Development is a core part of the Fortress team, who also works collaboratively with our management team, and subsidiaries and their teams.
Location: Miami, Florida preferred
Position Summary: The Director, Corporate Development supports the company’s strategic initiatives, external collaborations and transactions (financing and acquisitions). Working closely with executive management, the individual will proactively scout, develop, and manage these relationships with relevant partners and investors for the Company and its subsidiaries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain a strong network of industry contacts within the biotech / pharma industry
- Develop and foster key corporate development relationships with industry partners on behalf of Fortress and its subsidiaries.
- Collaborate with investor relations to identify and expand network of strategic and financial investors.
- Efficiently manage pipeline of opportunities, timelines, and follow up with coordination of cross-functional resources when necessary.
- Prepare corporate development documents, presentations, and analyses as required.
- Prepare, evaluate and present robust financial and product modeling and analyses on opportunities as needed.
- Monitor and analyze the competitive space, consider impacts on strategic positioning.
- Communicate to management team on an ongoing basis, including status of conversations, opportunities, and relevant activity.
- Proactively drive, negotiate and close new opportunities / partnership transactions.
Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Experience:
- 5+ years investment banking, equity capital markets, or equity sales experience in the biotechnology / pharmaceutical industry, or
- 5+ years of experience in a business or corporate development position in the biotech/pharma space, and
- Bachelor’s degree is required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Results-oriented, self-starter with high level of personal initiative and adaptability in a dynamic work environment.
- Excellent verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent analytical, modeling, and valuation skills.
- Proven ability to lead and manage multiple projects at a single time efficiently.
Work Environment:
This is a high growth, fast paced, and small organization. The ability to be productive and successful in a scientifically led and data driven work environment is critical. Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally is required, it is anticipated that this will be up to 25% of work time.
Compensation: Competitive package including salary (commensurate with experience), bonus, and equity.
